Yael Stone, who was born in Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as the prisoner in Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA diploma. Yael's first job has given her to work with Australia's top storytellers. Yael leads a highly accomplished career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael's new life in New York City began when her production was critically acclaimed by the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Yael founded The Cannery with her co-founders. The Cannery is a studio located at Bushwick, Brooklyn, the company supports new writing and innovative, creative exploits.
